About TLA

Our Mission

Mission

We work together to prepare all students for college, career, and life—in every classroom, for every student, every day.

Vision

All students will become compassionate leaders, learners, and thinkers, ready for the future.

Dear Taylor Leadership Academy Scholars, Parents, and Learning Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I am excited to announce that our scholars’ first day of instruction will be Thursday, July 30, 2026, beginning at 8:25 AM. My staff and I are eager to welcome our scholars back into the classrooms, breezeways, playgrounds, and multi-purpose room, where their energy, enthusiasm, and passion for learning fill the spaces.

Over the summer, our dedicated teachers have worked tirelessly to plan and create engaging classroom activities. By utilizing research-based instructional practices and analyzing academic data, they have set individual learning goals for each scholar to foster growth and improvement. We are steadfast in our belief that all students can succeed, and we are driven by our school vision: “As a sustaining professional learning community, we will provide high-quality learning to all scholars and prepare them to be compassionate lifelong leaders, learners, and thinkers, preparing for the future.” Additionally, we uphold our school mission: “Working collaboratively as a Professional Learning Community, we will close the achievement gap by preparing all scholars for college and career readiness, ensuring success in a global society, and fostering imagination and critical thinking skills.”

At Taylor Leadership Academy, we deeply value the role of parents and guardians in the learning process. Throughout the year, there will be numerous opportunities for you to engage in your scholar’s education. These include School Site Council (SSC) meetings, English Learner Parent Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings, Parent Teacher Team meetings, AVID Parent Academies, Back to School Night & Title I presentations, parent conferences, volunteering opportunities (via beamentor.org), Fall & Spring Festivals, the Talent Show, our School Garden, and the Family Center. Your involvement is integral to your scholar's success, and we look forward to partnering with you.

For your convenience, the main gate on Lever Boulevard opens daily at 8:00 AM. Scholars should not arrive before 8:00 AM and must be supervised by a parent or guardian until that time. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM to 8:25 AM in the school cafeteria. As part of our daily routine, scholars will line up with their classes on the main playground around 8:20 AM for our morning gathering. School will officially begin at 8:25 AM and conclude at 2:25 PM.

Our team is fully committed to providing a safe, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment for all scholars. For security purposes,  all visitors must check in at the front office with a government-issued ID to receive a visitor’s badge before entering the campus. As an AVID school, we strive to create a dynamic learning environment that challenges and motivates our scholars.

Best Regards,
